What do you like most about being part of O'Brien?
One of the things that I like best about O’Brien is the open door culture. No team member is unapproachable and people are always willing to talk or help out. On the rare occasion that a door is actually closed, you can see through it anyway given that our offices are all glass!
Can you share one secret to success that has been helpful to you in your career?
It’s up to you to find the model you’re comfortable working in. In our industry transparency is incredibly important and trust is paramount. Living that principle will lead to the most honest relationship with your client, the best outcome for your firm, and a genuine sense of self satisfaction.
If wealth management were an ocean, what kind of creature would you be?
Sea Turtle. The Sea Turtle is wise, patient and has a very long term horizon. I try to help our clients understand the long run perspective while managing short term expectations. In investing (and life!) slow and steady really does win the race.
What would your co-workers say is your superpower?
Creating motion and momentum. I like to make things happen. Once a decision has been made, I take action, look at the result and learn. This keeps my thinking fresh and informed. I judge myself on what I get done, and the difference I make.
You're a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be?
Fisherman’s Tan. I’m a huge boating and fishing enthusiast. I participate in fishing tournaments all across the Atlantic. To me fishing represents an opportunity to reconnect with nature, disconnect from the grid, and to firmly establish my position on the food chain.
