What do you like most about being part of O'Brien?
As employee number three, I have had the opportunity to participate in the growth of the business over 23 years. We are truly a team oriented firm and everyone has a part in the growth and evolution of the firm, no matter what position they hold.
Can you share one secret to success that has been helpful to you in your career?
In your career you’re confronted with many choices. Sometimes, choosing to stay where you are takes just as much consideration as choosing to pursue a different option. Good bosses are hard to come by, so when you find one along with a good job, you have the best of both worlds.
If wealth management were an ocean, what kind of creature would you be?
I would be an Orca. An Orca is among the fastest mammals in the ocean and has the second largest brain of any sea creature. Orcas travel in pods and hunt as a team. Their migration patterns span incredible distances each year; however their strong homing instincts bring them back to the same areas of the ocean.
What would your co-workers say is your superpower?
Diligence. Organization, details and procedures are second nature to me. I am excellent at setting timelines and meeting deadlines. Increasing efficiency is one of my hallmarks. Others appreciate the structure and predictability I bring to the inherent messiness of life.
You're a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be?
I would bring back Dandelion-Yellow, a color that was recently retired. I chose this because I value tradition. I also sometimes find that the simplest things can be the most interesting. And sometimes there is even beauty when you’re in the weeds!
